Zoomery Server
Zoomery Server is the world's first - and maybe only - Deep Zoom server, capable of serving literally hundreds of thousands of Deep Zoom images. It is not
a standalone product in itself, but instead serves as a framework that products and services can build on. The image you can see below shows a diagram of the
typical Zoomery Server based application.

It is - in essence - a client-server based approach of the Zoomery technology. Instead of relying on pre-generated scenes and external tools, we created an
integrated, web based server side image repository that uses Deep Zoom through Zoomery to process and show stored images to end-users.
In Short: It is the next evolutionary step of both the Zoomery product line, and the way of handling
and presenting Deep Zoom images.
Key Features
Zoomery Server consists of two distinct parts:
Server Core, an ASP.Net library that can serve as the base of any server side application that requires generating and displaying Deep Zoom tiles,
scenes, filtered lists, etc.
- Flexible architecture that accommodates a wide range of tasks
- Supports adding, changing and deleting images from a collection without regenerating the entire collection. Adding an image thus only takes a second,
even if there are already thousands of images
- Supports arbitrary filtering – this means that we can show the resulting images from any query in Deep Zoom, even if the entire image database
has 100,000 images
- Supports dynamic generation of collection images for any such filtered image set for better end-user experience
- Caching support for enhanced filtering performance
- High level of security – even image tiles cannot be accessed without authorization
- Hard drive space requirements and fragmentation are reduced by optimized file storage
- Ability to fine tune compression settings (even per detail level) to find the optimal balance between size and quality
- Marshals metadata to Zoomery Client Core
Client Core is the Silverlight library that works together with the Server Core, providing support for displaying Deep Zoom scenes, requesting queries,
etc.
- Handles basic Deep Zoom navigation, such as mouse wheel zooming and panning
- Includes a skinnable Zoom Toolbar that helps zooming in and out without a mouse wheel (must have for notebooks)
- Notifies the Silverlight application when:
- the user clicks on an image
- the user moves the mouse pointer over an image
- an image is “in focus”, meaning it fills most of the screen
- Can zoom and pan the scene so that a specified image fills the screen
- Supports adding overlays to any image by synchronizing its movement with the specified framework element (including zooming and panning)
- Provides API to consume metadata from the server
- Uses WCF RIA Services to communicate with Zoomery Server Core
